0. DEATH

MIRROR CARD: THE FOOL

NEW BEGINNINGS - SECOND CHANCES

...In the beginning there is death. It is what we often fear most and know so little about. We imagine it as the soundless dark void where there is nothing, everywhere. But in this oracle, death marks the start. Perhaps, it is here that we can finally see death not as the impending force of doom we so fear, but rather an escort to our next chapter. It is the end of a cycle and opens a door for a new lifetime to Unfold.

If death comes up in a reading, do not be alarmed. Take the hand that guides you as if it belonged to an old friend and grab tightly. For death in this oracle is a sign of life: it can represent a grand beginning, a second chance at living, or mastering two lives in one lifetime. Beginnings can also be restorative, and it is more often than not that we forget to realize the beauty in the infancy of things.

1.  THE CROW

MIRROR CARD: THE MAGICIAN

FORCE OF CREATION - MANIFESTATION •¿4s tf from nothing the Crow materialises. Emerald green ribbons of light shimmer

around the crow as it carries death away on its back. The Crow flies with certainty and it understands there is an appropriate direction to all things. That which comes must eventually go. While the crow may seem small, it is the magician, manifesting a strong current of energy from within.

2.    THE SWAN

MIRROR CARD: HIGH PRIESTESS

PROTECTIVE - GOOD OMEN - CLARITY

The Swan floats effortlessly across the glassy water scattering droplets in elegant patterns. She is at peace with her existence and understands that which is buried deep in the mind.

She is your guardian for all important magical transitions and reconnections. With grace and warmth she unlocks your unconscious and reunites it with your conscious. As she drifts to the melody of the universe everything comes swirling back to you in a brilliant flash. Y>u feel more connected to yourself than ever before.

The Crow teaches us how to change energy into a force of creation. We can learn great things

from the Crow, but even greater things from ourselves. If you can will it, it can happen. You have called upon the Crow to manifest boundless creative energy. Let it fill you, and then exhale it back into the universe. When there is something in your life that you want, meditate on it. If it doesn’t already exist, create it. You will find that you naturally gravitate towards the paths that will get you there.

A glowing shield cascades down the neck of the brilliant red Swan. This shield represents

a protective presence in your life. The Swan is an omen for safe changes. If the swan comes up when you have a decision to make, take it as an affirmation that what you feel in your mind is what your heart needs too. It represents mental clarity, wisdom and a connection with your unconscious mind. If you’ve been waiting to take the plunge into something new, now is the time!

3.            THE PEACOCK H MIRROR CARD: THE EMPRESS

NURTURING - MERGING OPPOSITES

F Y)u come upon a glowing doorway in the middle of a shallow pool of water. The Peacock sits atop the door and its feathers cascade down with eyes that seem to follow your every move. As you lock eyes with the bird a feeling of ease washes over you. It is the gatekeeper between the physical world and the spirit plane. But it gives you assurance that you that moving forward will lead to another fertile world. The pulsing colors within the door call you towards it and you step through, unsure of what is to come.

The Peacock lives between two worlds, it is a reminder that it is possible to find a happy balance between things like work and love, the grounded and the spiritual. This card is about nurturing yourself and finding peace in the world you live in. When you see the Peacock in a reading it can also be representative of an increasingly strong bond to the earth or a need to reconnect with it. This can be a card that speaks about great unions of unlikely things and it asks us to keep an open mind whenever possible.

4.    THE PELICAN

MIRROR CARD: THE EMPEROR

STRUCTURE - CONTROL - DISCIPLINE

The Pelican is the first bird you encounter as you cross over to the Spirit Plane. It is the emperor of the unknown; the glowing scepter in its claws filters the world you see and instead the Pelican shows you what must be seen. It is the guide for your self within yourself; it requests your deepest fears, sorrows and pains to come to the surface. For some, only mere hours are spent with the Pelican, for others it can be years. Once you have settled your physical karmic debt the Pelican takes the debt into its scepter and grants you passage forward.

The Pelican essentially represents spirit plane boot camp. When it comes up in a reading it can be a symbol of structure and control, but it can also represent rigidity and coldness. If so, there may be a need to confront your inner self. When you see the Pelican, ask yourself if you are avoiding something that needs confrontation in order to move on or perhaps ask if you are being controlling about something that requires lightness.

5. THE PHOENIX

MIRROR CARD: THE HIEROPHANT

SPIRITUALITY - ONENESS

you notice a fiery streak zipping across the space beyond you. Ibu call upon the Phoenix and it soars in the sky like a delicate explosion. The parade of colors streaming from the tail of the Phoenix contains traces of all of the goodness you have engendered in your life. With these memories guiding the giant bird, it dances in the sky in true freedom celebrating your new awakening. And in the beauty of this moment, void of all inhibitions, you realize you are finally free too.

If the Phoenix appears it is time for celebration as you are approaching a new awakening and an internal holiness with the self. There is a magic bubbling inside of you that only needs your complete oneness in order to soar. Do not become too rigid in your expectations, there is an undeniable natural changeability that will happen within the self. Allowing patience and room for this spirtual awakening to take place will lead you to soar to greater heights.

6. SOULMATES

MIRROR CARD: THE LOVERS

DUALITY - CONNECTION

In a bright flash your soulmates wrap around you in a cosmic embrace. In this moment you feel safe and loved. We travel through time with these souls, and each one changes us into who we are meant to become. Some challenge us, and others lift us up when we are on the edge of the light. Through them you feel absolute love.

Throughout many lives, our soulmates build us into who we are meant to be. Like a song on repeat, we encounter the same souls over and over again. When this card shows up it asks us to take pause, reflect and appreciate the idea of this immortal connection. Open up to others, show them the real you and your deep connections will be bountiful. Be vulnerable, be content, be okay with being alone and learning about yourself. When you do this, you will find your relationships with others will only grow stronger and When you do encounter a soulmate, the spark will be unmistakable.

7. THE SPIRIT PLANE

MIRROR CARD: THE CHARIOT

REST - FEELING AT HOME

The Spirit Plane pulses with a warm magic that feels like home. The light here is a greenish hue, but feels warmer and brighter than anything felt on earth. The air is sweet and tranquil, orbs of light float by you: these are souls. A constant melody seems to follow behind each one. As a soul in the spirit plane there is no conflict or sadness. Life here is blissful, but without the bad it is difficult to discern the good.

When The Spirit Plane shows up in a reading take it as a suggestion for meditative rest and reflection. Appreciate what skills you have acquired and who you have become already at this point in your life. Know that you are a remarkable being and let it rejuvenate your weary soul. Then take these feelings and that internal power that you have acquired and hold on tight, because this next chapter is only just beginning. This is a card about becoming who you are and feeling at home with yourself and your surroundings. It can be worrisome for those who fear stillness, but stillness is sometimes the best move to make.

8. THE ORBS

MIRROR CARD: STRENGTH

BRAVERY - OVERCOMING FEAR

I# learn many things from the Orbs that we cannot learn on earth. These are wise souls who have lived lives upon lives and no longer reincarnate into human form. They exist only in the Spirit Plane and know all there is to know. They are omnipresent and imbue lost souls with bravery and strength. While in the spirit plane they teach us about things we hardly remember on earth - The Cosmic Tree, Life Maps, Karma, Sacrifice and Past Lives. They remind us of the Maze and warn us about what comes after. The Orbs can never interfere or change the path of fate, they only shed light on things you already once knew.

When the Orbs comes up in a reading it is an exclamation point and declares that you have the bravery, determination and will power to overcome any obstacles that may come your way. Fear can cripple a powerful mind so shake the shroud and channel your fear into strength. Once you believe in yourself you will find many future challenges suddenly conquerable.

9.THE COSMIC TREE

MIRROR CARD:THE HERMT

REAFFIRMING-INNER TRUTH

We are told that The Cosmic Tree is at the epicenter of all souls. It is where we all come from and where we one day will return. It has had many names over time but at its roots is the collective unconscious unfolding for eternity. It is the Great Mother, the life source of all souls and the heart of the truth in all things. It has existed since the beginning of time and will exist long after we are gone. It is wise to not seek out The Cosmic Tree but rather to find comfort in its existence.

10.LIFE MAP

A Life Map is the blueprint of your complete history. Everyone has one and no two are the same. Some are simple and others much more complex. The Life Map contains traces the karmic debt we’ve acquired - the people we’ve loved and the ones we’ve wronged. It shows you where you’ve been and where you are going. While each life map is different, they are all balanced in the end. Your inevitable fate, the cycles of you, illuminated and understood.

When you pull Life Map in a reading it is

If the Cosmic Tree comes up in a reading, it is offering guidance through the collective unconscious. 'lake this as a positive affirmation that the path you are on is the right one, and that in contemplation comes understanding and growth. Trust that the truth you seek is be buried within the fibers of your own being. Understand that knowing your inner truth may require isolation. Spend time with yourself, in the quiet there is a seed that needs nurturing.

to alert you to a larger cycle of experience and understanding. What is happening now will shape your future. There are moments in life where you will be victorious and moments where you will fail. If things are feeling tough right now, know that you will learn from these lessons and come out stronger than before. Life is full of ups and downs. While some parts of fate are inevitable, there still is free will. If things are not going the way you had hoped then make a change.

11. KARMA

MIRROR CARD: JUSTICE

HONESTY - RESTORING BALANCE Karma is universal justice. It can never be controlled and will always restore the balance in all things. It is at the core of why we are brought together with people in our lives. Karma is like a complex knot you are trying to undo. We all start with an unknotted string and as life

goes on we have more karmic debt to untie. Karma brings clarity and truth through cause and effect. It is invisible to the naked eye, but is what tips the scales and what morphs universal coincidences into cosmic enlightenment.

Karma is a card that asks for brutal honesty. It is easy to convince yourself that you have not wronged, but we all have. It is a part of being human. Don’t be afraid to try and mend broken relationships. The actions you take now will ripple far into the future. On the other-side of it, if you feel you have been wronged Karma will eventually restore balance. In the end it is always the ultimate truth that is rewarded in kind. Be truthful with yourself, others will be truthful with you.

12. SACRIFICE

MIRROR CARD: THE HANGED MAN

move through things. Sometimes sacrifice can be an offering to a "“higher power* as an exchange for something you deeply desire, but we must be careful not to sacrifice too much that it we lose focus of our own morals and authentic self.

Sacrifice comes up in a reading when it may time to let something go. If sacrifice is in order then move through troubling times with the grace and strength you need to realize that your karmic debt is lessening. Whether big or small, sacrifice can feel like you are losing a limb. Letting go of something is never an easy feat, but know’ that from sacrifice comes love and understanding. When we let go of one thing we often forget that we are also giving to something else.

13. PAST LIVES

MIRROR CARD: DEATH

EXPANSION - AWARENESS

One of the most important lessons learned in the Spirit Plane is of Past Lives. It can easily be forgotten on earth, but is crucial in understanding the journey of the soul. Each life you have lived is representative of a different awareness you have developed with the world. In each of these lives you have overcame obstacles and learned invaluable lessons that have given you the perspective that you hold today. Understand this is not your imagination but rather the distance of a memory, and that you are greater than yourself - in fact you have had many selves and have had many bodies.

Each past life you have lived influences the decisions and events of your current life. \bur fears, your dreams, your wants and desires. Xbur past lives are entangled in each choice you make, and the things that make you who you are. M>u have pulled this card to draw awareness to this. M?u are constantly expanding, new cycles are beginning and ending all the time. Take this spiritual lesson and let it shift you into the effervescent soul you wish to be.

14.THE MAZE

MIRROR CARD: TEMPERANCE

COMPROMISE - ADJUST EXPECTATIONS

You find yourself alone in The Maze - an endless labyrinth of corridors and spirals that lead to many, many outcomes. There is an exit at the center of every circle, and you could just take anyone you walk by, but only some exits lead to a life meant for you. There are great lives you are meant to live buried deep in the Maze, but eventually have to walk towards one that calls your name, or you could spend a lifetime walking in vain.

As you walk by another spiral in the Maze, you here a sound calling you towards the center. It doesn’t feel perfect, but it fits and you’ve grown tired of looking. This card shows up when it is time to make a compromise. Expectations do not always meet reality and that is just a fact of life. Sometimes the outcome is not what you were hoping for and a compromise is in order. Take the middle road, and celebrate that you made it out of the Maze at all.

The glow of a peculiar kissel draws you in. Like a familiar embrace from a partner you feel a radiating energy and edge closer towards it. It whistles a seductive song and you become fixated. All you can focus on is the vessel and it urges you to open it. Ignoring the inscriptions on the body, you remove the lid and everything around you goes dark.

The most beautiful vessels can sometimes contain the most tragic stories. As humans we all have problems that we don’t show on the surface. We fill ourselves with things that distract us from reality. The Wssel is much like a mask, it hides what is truly underneath. If this card has shown up it’s time to reign in your demons. Don’t let the materialism, addictions and obsessions of this world cloud your brilliant light. It can be all too easy to get wrapped up in success that you start to lose touch with your soul. Even when the terrible is swallowing you whole there is still a light found in others. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

16.THE SHORE

TURBULENCE - UNFAMILIAR PLACE When the darkness subsides you find yourself on a foggy beach. Confused you look around and see nothing familiar. Did you make the wrong choice? The Shore seems of another world, fire rains from the sky and the air smells of soot. In the distance you see a graveyard of broken ships. You travel towards the ships, unsure of what you are looking for or who you even are. As the waves pummel the cosmic floor, the heaviness that hangs in the air creeps into your mind. Why are you here?

The Shore is the rock bottom of the Spirit Plane. If this card has appeared in the wake of a disaster do not let the your sudden upheaval define you. While your current territory may be unfamiliar, underneath the crashing waves of the shore sleeps the world you know well. Change is a part of breaking new ground and some transitions can be harder than others. Take the time you need to adjust to your new reality, find daily comforts and embrace what you can of the familiar, it will make the unfamiliar feel more like home.

ILLUSIONS - INTUITION

Y)U notice a figure standing on the other side of the bridge; it looks like you, or what you imagine yourself looking like. But as you step forward the space around you ripples like a mirage and distorts your vision. Is this an illusion? Fragments of your past and future memories reflect onto the bridge and then vanish. The figiire that was once at the other end of the bridge is no longer there, and you find yourself in their place.

The Bridge is a card about illusions. If you pull it in a reading it can either be a warning that something around you is not what it seems, or it could be a call for you to pay attention to your unconscious self. all have desires that are not necessarily resting on the surface. The Unknown symbolizes the exterior forces we encounter in our lives that push us in unfamiliar and sometimes unwanted directions.

These unconscious trajectories propel us more than we often realize. The Unknown will awaken you before you’re ready and so you must learn to move with it. It may not be the kind of awakening you would like, but it is sometimes what is necessary to move on. It is what creeps in on lonely nights and makes you question what you know to be true. When you are a young human you can often recall your previous lives before being inside of this bodily vessel. It is comforting, it inspires you. This new life is exciting for a long time. But as you grow older, having spent more time on this planet, you start to forget your old soul. It seems so far away, a different life, and this is your life now. So you adopt this world as your own, forgetting the real one behind until the next time around. And with great harmony another cycle begins.

Life on Earth has existed on this planet for billions of years and you are here witnessing it. When you see this card in a reading take it as a wonderful sign. And that is the beauty of being human - we are always growing, even when we’re resting.

THE MINOR ARCANA-LIFE ON THE EARTH

The final card of the Major Arcana, Life on A takes us to the next 56 cards of the

< These cards explore what it means to iei soul experiencing life on earth. The 56 minor Arcana split up as follows: The Suit f Embers, The Suit of Lotuses, The Suit of Trees, The Suit of Birds and lastly, the Suit of Beings. The final section on Beings covers all of what we would normally call the court cards. Again, it’s the major difference between this deck and a tarot deck.

In the first suit, The Spark of Embers, the soul embarks on its first journey on earth after spending time in the spirit plane. It begins with the mystical flame and takes you on a quest that challenges and inspires the soul. During this suit we encounter the devastation of fire but also the ability to turn this powerful element into a force of creation.

In the Dance of Lotuses, the soul is reconnected to the heart at the Wellspring. Dominated by emptiqiis, the heart searches for balance and freedom to love. During this suit we learn about pain and love and the interconnectedness of the two. We celebrate unions and connections and personal empowerment through understanding deep emotions.

In the Flight of Birds, the soul and the heart are reintroduced to the mind. It is here at the base of Wise Mountain that the soul must journey through the cavities of the mind to reach a point of clarity and understanding. In this suit we witness frustration, internal struggles and mental anguish, but we also learn about rest, reflection and mental precision.

In the Growth of Trees, the soul, heart and mind are fused together with the body. It is during this suit that we experience labor, wealth, leisure and decay. It all starts with the luminescent sprout and through hard work and dedication we learn to grow from our challenges and foster our strengths.

Finally, in the Importance of Being, we experience the wide range of characteristics, skills and hardships that we encounter as humans. This suit is the largest suit of the five and includes sixteen identities that we all can exhibit. These identities tackle the strengths and flaws of the soul, heart, mind and body. You are not one of these identities, but all. This suit gives us the intricacies of what makes us.

Then from within the flame you hear a deep sigh and the fire vanishes back into the night air leaving you feeling invigorated and alive, but cold again in the dark.

This mystical flame was born from something unusual and unseen - it holds a potent energy unmatched with that of common fire. It only calls upon your willpower to make it grow. In a reading, the mystical flame is a metaphor for a surge of creativity sparking from an unknown source. It can represent a burning desire to start something new. It urges us to build upon this spark and nurture it rather than question it. It will not always be there to get you started, but when it is, take it as a gift from the universe

Small flags adorning the roof are scrawled with green glyphs that offer good luck, fortune, time for celebration and peace. Perhaps these sigils protect the shrine, for even in a wild storm the candles have always stayed lit.

On the other side of the eruption a miracle seems to be occurring. The ten flames careening from the sky are turning into strange alchemical fire. As the fire strikes the ground, it evaporates into water leaving seeds of life in its place.

You are at a point where you can now measure your accomplishments with great satisfaction. But this brilliant achievement comes with a deep sense of responsibility. When this card arrives it reminds us that the achievements we desire in life do not come free of burden. There are many invisible intricacies involved that come together to make something great. Now you must be conscious of it. You must know when to dim your flame when darkness is required for others to blaze forward and when to brighten your flame when times call for you to take the lead.

Perhaps it is a perfect moment. As they float in front of the footbridge a kiss transforms the world around them.

THREE OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: THREE OF CHALICES

COEXISTENCE - SYNCHRONICITY

The opalescent seaside temple glows in the afternoon sun. It appears to you like something out of a fairy tale, it looks unreal and inexplicably magical. Three friends pirouette outside towards the glaring sun as three boats pass by in front of the temple in beautiful synchronicity. In front of you the three lotuses dancing in gleeful harmony. The world is aligned for a single wondrous second.

If there was a card about natural synchronicity, this is it. In a reading this can represent universal alignment with your surroundings. Like a symphony each part unfolding in harmonious beauty. Rejoice in the presence of this card, it finds the best in coexistence with your surroundings. If you do not feel it already, look for it, it is there. It is when we are in need of a little luck or beauty, that it shows up in the most unusual places.

FOUR OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: FOUR OF CHALICES

CONTEMPLATION - DISCONNECTEDNESS

Four lotuses toss around in an unexpected wave. The first is about to be thrashed about and submerged underwater and the three others are sure to follow. Behind them a boat is tied to the dock and will likely be the next casualty of the growing wave. The sky above looks peaceful and doesn't seem to reflect the tormenting waters below. Something is off and the imbalance is only growing.

This is a card of utter disconnectedness. It finds itself in a reading when there is a sharp imbalance in things, but it suggests that it is the approach that needs correcting. Vbur attention on what is around you has diminished and therefore your outlook on the world has lessened. Take this flood as a wake up call, or a future reminder to immerse yourself in something new so that you can appreciate with the world around you because one day it may not be there anymore’

FIVE OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: FIVE OF CHALICES

LOSS - GRIEF - SELF-PITY

A giant wave crashes into the harbor swallowing ships in its merciless grasp. One has already sunken well below the surface and in moments the others will soon meet a similar fate. As for the lotuses, they seem to be withstanding the forceful wave, yet beneath the surface their stalks are being tugged and ripped from the soil they were once firmly planted in.

There is no easy way to put it, this is a card of loss. The ships have no chance of surviving the tumultuous surf and complete devastation leaves a bitter mark on the scene. This is a reminder that sometimes things are out of your control. Loss is a part of living, it is a sad fact that finds home in heartache. Grief can engulf the heart and it opens avenues for more uncomfortable feelings to thrive. Let the grief take you but move through it with grace, knowing that time will eventually heal and the tide will recede.

SIX OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: SIX OF CHALICES

FAMILIARITY - HAPPY MEMORIES

M single lotus has stayed above the domineering waves. Its companions have been completely submerged by the water but this lotus offers a glimmer of hope. Perhaps when the water does recede they will survive to see another day.

When this card shows up it signifies an opportunity to rise above the challenge. While some of the lotuses may seem to be drowning, the one that has persevered remains, not all is lost. This is a time to heal what wounds you can and reflect on the happy memories. Even if a situation has been soured by unfortunate events, there were still aspects that you can cherish. Perhaps things have turned out this way so that you may grow from this experience and move forward a greater being

SEVEN OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: SEVEN OF CHALICES

CHOICES - DAYDREAMING

Under the water a new world unfolds. Life has adapted and now various fish and amphibians thrive in the recent flood, opening up new opportunities for growth. It is a symbol of duality, two worlds existing simultaneously. For many, the new rush of water is welcomed. For others it may be an opportunity to adapt.

You find yourself in immersed in a wondrous new world. The magic that flows through the teal waters is alluring and somewhat intoxicating. This card shows up when you have been living in two worlds as a way of not choosing one. You may be feeling overwhelmed by decisions and instead have chosen to retreat into another daydream. It is healthy to fantasize having two lives, but if too much time is spent in between you will wake up feeling not a part of either. Feel fully in it, get caught up in the wonder of one.

EIGHT OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: EIGHT OF CHALICES

WALKING AWAY - DISILLUSIONMENT

In the underwater world, eight lotuses sway on long stalks and dance to the song of the humpback whale twirling above. At the bottom of the ocean sits the ruins of a lost city. Perhaps from a long forgotten civilisation or even from the recent catastrophic flood. Either way the inhabitants are gone and the city has been reclaimed by the water dwellers.

The presence of these ruins asks you to move on from something that has long since moved on from you. It can take time to realize something has ended especially when it is not something you have come to rely on anymore. This is not a difficult leaving behind, but more of a decluttering. There is no need to hold on to the extra weight, you will find simplifying your life will cause the disillusionment of dissatisfaction to fade away. Allow time to mourn the loss, but when you are ready be like the whale and swim wistfully away.

NINE OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: NINE OF CHALICES

SATISFACTION - EMOTIONAL STABILITY A golden wave thrusts into the air carrying nine lotuses upwards. This gravity defying miracle must be the source of the catastrophic flood in the previous cards. The vertical water wall be should be intimidating, but here it almost has a serene quality. The lotuses move across the wave in a joyful dance nearly floating in the air as they jump from crest to crest. They work in unison with the magic wave, detached from their stalks, preparing for a mystical journey ahead.

The magic wave is a card of pure satisfaction and emotional stability. Sometimes this feeling of stability is unexpected and unlike anything you’ve experienced before. When it shows up let this moment of wonder wash over you. It is a pleasant surprise and the luxury of this level of satisfaction is not something often easily come by. Like any other natural phenomenon it offers a glimpse at the inner magic of the universe.

TEN OF LOTUSES

MIRROR CARD: TEN OF CHALICES

APPRECIATION - BEAUTY - PEACE

last, a time of peace. Birds sing as they fly through the cool spring air and the sunrise bursts into the sky behind the green hills. The lotuses bloom in unison surely influenced by, the. burbling wellspring. All along, it was the wellspring that has caused all the turmoil of the previous cards, but it has also brought all the beauty, a true lesson in the duality of emotion.

This card is a symbol of reflection, appreciation and bliss. It does not ask anything of you other than to experience life as it was truly meant to be - uninhibited by clouded emotions, and completely absorbed in the beauty ahead. You have journeyed far and experienced a wide range of emotions, some of which have left you feeling uneasy. Let yourself get lost in the tranquility of right here and now, a perfect moment of calm and one that is meant to be enjoyed and cherished.

THE FLIGHT OF BIRDS

Absence - Loss - Clarity - Truth

"Air. It directs the breeze and guides the mind to enlightenment.”

element: air

signs: libra

At the foot of Wise Mountain a cold wind whips across your face. You have climbed this high, looking for the truth of being human, but these heights come with the pains of going back down. The Suit of Birds is ruled by air and speaks of all things that relate to the mind, both the mental anguish and the freedom it gains from true clarity. Like the Suit of Swords, the Suit of Birds attempts to explore the intricacies of the human mind, and the way it wrestles with the soul for room at the top. When you notice many Birds in a reading it may be a sign to listen to your mind and what it needs. The mind can often be tormented by both internal and external forces, but when it is free to think it will overcome many things the heart and body could not.

ACE OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: ACE OF SWORDS

BREAKTHROUGH - CLARITY

An eerie wind blows through the air, midnight is here. The wind whispers something inaudible in your ear and then disappears. Known to many as Wise Mountain, this is a place of pilgrimage for those who seek truth. If you are brave enough to climb to the beak of the great bird you will be rewarded with crisp clarity. Even just staring into the birds eye from the base of the mountain imbues the looker with a sharp understanding of the path to follow.

V>u have climbed to the beak of Wise Mountain and as you gaze into the valley below an instantaneous lucidity washes over you. This is a powerful card to pull in a reading. It is the ace of the mind and symbolizes a great breakthrough and honing mental clarity. If it hasn’t happened yet this breakthrough is soon to come. Wise mountain asks only for patience and trust and the truth will the guide you

TWO OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: TWO OF SWORDS

WASTED ENERGY - UNFOCUSED

The wind begins to pick up and a figure pulls two heavy bells across the snowy floor. One broken and of no use, they still refuse to let go of the extra burden. In the background another figure plays the singing bowls but they can t be heard over the broken bowls being dragged on the snowy ground.

When this card shows up it asks you to assess the things you have been spending your time on. Is it the best use of your energy? Mindlessly performing tasks just to get them done will result in a mediocre outcome. Rather than trying to shoulder too many tasks, make a plan to focus your attention on one thing at a time. Outline what your future goals are and decide what is most important for now.

THREE OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: THREE OF SWORDS

HEARTBREAK - SUFFERING - GRIEF

Pummeling from the sky, a triad of white doves falls to the snowy ground below. Three red arrows straight to the heart, these poor doves never stood a chance at survival. Predator no where to be found, leaving only the wind as a witness io the doves demise. For what purpose did these creatures have to give their lives?

The Three of Birds is a heartbreaking card that sends the mind for a spin. If you are the slain dove you likely didn’t stand a chance. It speaks of an unfair advantage of the opposing party, that for no noticeable payoff other than self enjoyment. If you are the predator your sly actions have catapulted a life into turmoil, and you must ask yourself if that move was even yours to make. If you are feeling guilty about something try and approach the situation, see if you can resolve it on better terms so you may clear your mind.

FOUR OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: FOUR OF SWORDS

RESTORATION - CONTEMPLATION

Telescope aimed at the stars, the observatory looks at the infinity of space gathering whatever knowledge there is to obtain. The lime green moon illuminates the scene below as a gentle wind rustles the sycamore trees that dapple the white landscape with a burst of color. This is a quiet moment, a chance to pause from the harrowing cards that came before it.

The observatory symbolizes a place of

contemplation, restoration and reflection. It asks you to take a moment and think about your place in this vast universe. In comparison to the sky you are but just a speck. Rejoice in the fact that you are alive, and try to restore your faith in the world through wonder. If this card has appeared in a reading amidst a burning question, it asks us to pause before we act. Perhaps answers are not what are needed but rather reflection. Much can be gained from looking within and assessing what is around you. When you really take note of the grandness of it all your problems will become smaller.

FIVE OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: FIVE OF SWORDS

AMBITION - WIN AT ALL COSTS

Caught in mid air, two warring eagles fight over a place on the cliffs edge. During the tussle the mother eagle carelessly knocks her own egg out of the nest and sends it plunging down the cliff-side. On this cold windy night, winning the battle is the only chance of survival, unless of course one chooses to look for another place to perch.

The brawling- birds are too caught up in victory to notice their surroundings. The one defending its own nest is losing the fight and knocking its future fledgling out of existence. This card has showed , up to let you know that a "win at all costs" mentality is never the right approach. Even if it may feel like you are coming out ahead, you are still losing something with this mode of thinking. Ambition is only a good quality when it brings positivity with it.

SIX OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: SIX OF SWORDS

OUT OF CONTROL - LEAVING BEHIND

Si-v fighter planes sweep through the valley quickly advancing towards their target. But for one plane this is the last flight. It's leaking fuel and spiraling downwards when suddenly a sharp wind shifts and launches the plane directly into the purple valley. Perhaps the pilot will be lucky enough for a water landing, but that is now up to fate.

The wind plays no helping hand in this card, rather it is the reaper for the pilot. This can be a heavy card to have in your spread. It doesn’t speak kindly to favor and instead suggests that sometimes your own fate is simply out of your control. When you find yourself in an uncontrollable situation try to move through the transition with as much composure as you can. Trust that the universe will work things out.

SEVEN OF BIRDS

OBSTACLE - TACTICS - STRATEGY

A flock of seagulls flap their wings in for- mation above the mountainous terrain. With the wind as a guide they journey as a single unit bound for something new. Beneath them a river runs through the valley dipping behind the snowy mountains and then reappearing moments later.

Only the brave would dare to cross this treacherous terrain. When this card shows up it is a placeholder for a strategy you must soon devise. Some rocky roads may , be approaching and it is ill advised to approach haphazardly. Instead you will need I to learn from the birds in order to plan accordingly, do so and you will make it to the other side with much ease. A carefully thought-out maneuver will catapult you much further than approaching with haste.

EIGHT OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: EIGHT OF SWORDS

ENTRAPMENT - SELF-VICTIMIZATION

The wind has picked up with increasing speed and has formed into a gargantuan tornado. The flock of birds has disbanded, each now just trying to survive the event. Yet the tornado starts to pull everything around it inwards leaving little chance for escape. Brace yourself from the impending windy obstacle.

NINE OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: NINE OF SWORDS

ANXIETY – HOPELESSNESS

The cloaked figure points their bow towards the sky aimlessly. They seem to be preoccupied with ramblings in their head to even notice they've been firing arrows at will. Agitated, anxious, and traumatised the figure steps closer and closer to the edge of the precipice. The voices only seem to multiply as arrow after arrow after arrow is fired into the cold whipping wind. If the archer continues to be so reckless they may topple into the chasm.

When the tornado shows up in a reading you can expect a certain level of destruction and self-victimization to follow,. Perhaps the situation has spiraled into something unmanageable and it is hurling right towards you. Don’t pity yourself for being stuck here, part of it was your own doing. The imprisonment you may be feeling is self imposed. Move through it and exit the destruction with as much dignity as you can.

TEN OF BIRDS

MIRROR CARD: TEN OF SWORDS

DIFFICULT ENDING - BETRAYAL

Arriving at the scene too late, you find the carcass of a calf, You made it this far, through all of the mental exhaustion only to be met with complete loss. Picked apart by vultures, othing is left of the calf but bones. Unfortunately, not all endings are joyful. Sometimes in the end we are met with sadness, let it be brief and let it be known.

When you draw back your bow it is crucial that you are in a state of mental clarity. If you let the anxiety and hopelessness set in, the bickering voices in your head can become overpowering. This is a card of mental anguish, and a lesson must be learned from the archer. If you are not of clear mind lower you weapons and take a calmer approach when you are ready. There is no shame in retreating until a later day.

You are at the end of a chapter and you had hoped for a resolution that would leave you better off. But here it is not the case. This card shows when we are met with difficult endings. It often speaks of betrayal, deception and something being wrongfully terminated. This ending was out of your control, so it is important to understand the impact of it, but not to dwell on it. If you spend too long picking apart the reasons why it went south it will eat you alive. Appreciate that it existed at all and move onwards into your next chapter.

Against all odds two small sprouts have broken through and have found a way to survive. With a source of water and light, they just might grow into fruitful trees.

FOUR OF TREES

MIRROR CARD: FOUR OF PENTACLES

GREED - MATERIALISM

Glorious lavender spills out across the land. The air smells intoxicating and the floral aroma seems to dance in the wind. In the fields, a group of day laborers pick the crop waiting for the sun to go down. Meanwhile a tractor drives towards the market to deliver the day’s work, collecting ( the majority of the profits from the labor.

This disparity of wealth is not uncommon and is something we still see today. "Ybu’re putting in the work and not getting nearly the same reward back in return. Sadly the grasp of material wealth is strong and intoxicating, and for some they cannot see through it. FIVE OF TREES

MIRROR CARD: FIVE OF PENTACLES

A fatal rot sweeps across the land causing utter devastation. Five withered trees line the grim scene, branches reaching up towards the sun for hope. The crop that was thriving here is now dead, the soil poisoned from chemicals and from being overworked. You can still smell the death

lingering in the air and there is little opportunity to nurture new life here any time soon.

A dark purple cloud swTeeps across the sky ready to eclipse the sun. Everything you have worked for has been destroyed and you have little faith in the future. 'You may be at rock bottom but don’t wallow too long in your self pity, instead learn from this. Spending time with your loss and grieving for what is gone will be the only way to move on from it. Hardships will always have a way of setting us back, but it is up to you how you overcome it.

The Entertainer is a conundrum of a character. He has acquired an audience from his notable skills and successes, but has grown too dependent on these tricks to imbue meaning into his life. He measures value based on what there is to gain, rather than the inherent beauty.
